A primary school is considering plans to abandon its Halloween
celebration in case it offends religious parents.

Teachers want to rename the party planned for the night of October 31 as
an Autumn Festival.

But parents criticised the proposed move as another example of
political correctness gone mad.

Pupils at Tonna Primary School in Neath, South Wales, were looking
forward their Halloween disco. But they were left disappointed after
staff told parents that the Halloween disco might offend. One mother
said: Its unbelievable that they should mess around with a night of
fun for the kids who have been looking forward to it. I think its
political correctness gone mad again.

Staff and parents are meeting next week to discuss the situation.

Headteacher Lloyd Jones said: No decision has been made yet. All weve
done is discuss ideas with the PTA.

The children are the most important thing here and well make sure we
have a little disco that everyone can enjoy

Now if they had just said were banning it because its imported and
American then no one would have complained.

(Yes I know it was originally a Scotish custom).

Autumnal Equinox, was a big thing through out all of northern Europe, maybe
and heres a laugh, we should campaign to have made important after all,
all us pagan non CofE people will get lots of support for what ever mumbo
jumbo we decide is important to us!
